Our Commitment To Sustainability At Total Hospitality

Our Commitment To Sustainability At Total Hospitality

Wednesday 7th January 2026

At Total Hospitality, we believe exceptional hospitality should be delivered responsibly. Sustainability is an integral part of how we operate, guiding our decisions across sourcing, operations, and event delivery. We are committed not only to improving our environmental impact, but to doing so in a way that is measurable, transparent, and continually improving.

Responsible Sourcing

We actively prioritise local and seasonal suppliers wherever possible. Our goal is for at least 75% of our fresh produce to be sourced from UK-based suppliers, helping to reduce food miles and support regional businesses. By designing menus around seasonal availability, we minimise reliance on imported ingredients while maintaining quality, flavour, and creativity.

Reducing Food Waste

Food waste reduction is a key performance focus for our catering operations. Through improved forecasting, portion planning, and live service monitoring, we aim to reduce food waste per event by a minimum of 20% year-on-year. Post-event reviews allow us to analyse surplus levels and continually refine our planning, ensuring we produce only what is needed without compromising guest experience.

Sustainable Packaging and Materials

We are committed to eliminating single-use plastics across our business. Our target is to eliminate unnecessary single-use plastic packaging wherever a suitable alternative exists, with a current focus on:

Using 100% recyclable, compostable, or biodegradable packaging for our event catering.

Prioritising reusable crockery, cutlery, and service equipment at larger events where applicable.

We regularly review new materials and suppliers to ensure our packaging choices continue to improve.

Energy and Operational Efficiency

Across kitchens, storage facilities, and event spaces, we are working to improve energy efficiency. Our operational targets include:

Reducing overall energy usage by 10% over the next two years through equipment maintenance, smarter scheduling, and staff awareness.

Streamlining delivery routes and event logistics to reduce unnecessary vehicle journeys.

These measures help lower emissions while maintaining operational reliability.

Engaging and Training Our Team

Our sustainability goals are supported by our people. We are committed to ensuring our team receive sustainability awareness training, empowering them to make responsible decisions during day-to-day operations and live events. This includes waste separation, efficient resource use, and sustainable service practices.

Continuous Improvement and Accountability

We recognise that sustainability is an ongoing journey. Our commitments are reviewed annually through our annual sustainability report, allowing us to track progress, identify opportunities for improvement, and set new targets as our business grows. By measuring our impact and holding ourselves accountable, we aim to make meaningful, long-term improvements rather than short-term gestures.

At Total Hospitality, we are proud to deliver outstanding service while taking practical steps to reduce our environmental impact. Our commitment to sustainability is about creating memorable experiences today, while contributing positively to the future of hospitality.
